Orange County Choppers
OCC Choppers: Popular Custom Chopper Builders
Orange County Choppers one of the most popular custom chopper motorcycles builders and shops in the United States, grew out of Orange County Ironworks and was founded as a business by Paul Teutul Sr. and his son, Paul Teutul Jr. Orange County Ironworks was founded in 1970, but it wasn't until the late 1990s, that Paul Teutul Sr. began manufacturing custom motorcycles as an extension of his steel business. In 1999 they moved from the steel business to the custom motorcycle business and founded OCC Choppers.
OCC Choppers: Popular Custom Motorcycles

Despite popular belief Orange County Choppers are from New York, but are often confused with the famous Orange County California, while corporate offices are located in Montgomery, New York.
Orange County Choppers jumped on the custom mini choppers scene with "True Blue," a classic chopper motorcycle built in the basement of Paul Sr.'s house. It was the first bike ever made by the company and it made its first appearance at the Daytona Bike Oktoberfest in 1999.
Since then, OCC Choppers has garnered worldwide recognition for their custom motorcycles, and since September 2002 it is featured on “American Chopper”, a reality TV show on the Discovery Channel. Actually, the Discovery Channel show is the main reason why OCC Choppers are so popular, as the show is only about the OCC. That would makes sense, since everyone who has watched “American Chopper” has seen how great they are with their custom motorcycle designs and how creative bikes can be. In fact they have become so popular that sell their merchandise everywhere: from apparel and hats to video games and fragrances, while “American Chopper” has become one of the most popular and successful shows on the Discovery Channel, keeping growing every season. Even their Die Cast Toy Choppers are very famous.
It's a garage business that has come far in less than a decade, still increasing their business and becoming more famous every day. Let’s wait to see what comes next.
Famous Orange County Choppers
The Raptor Bike: The popularity of “American Chopper” and OCC Choppers led the United States Air Force to ask them to make a $150,000 bike called "Raptor Bike", which was first put on public display in March 2005. This motorcycle is around ten feet long and is modelled after the F/A-22 Raptor. It was completed with the United States Air Force symbol rims, a riveted gas tank, Raptor exhausts system and rear-view mirrors in the shape of jets.
The Comanche Bike: This mini chopper bike was designed and fabricated by Paul Teutul Jr., and named after the RAH-66 Comanche Helicopter. The Comanche Bike was debuted at a gala event to which the Teutuls flew in on a Bell helicopter, an entrance which required major set-up, leaving only Vinnie DiMartino to fix massive problems with the engine. In the last seconds (quite literally), Vinnie and the crew he had called in, got the bike started up, and released it to the public with great success.
The Black Widow Chopper Bike: Was the mini bike central to the first two episodes of “American Chopper” and was the first sign to “American Chopper” fans of Paul Jr.'s obsession with spiders and spider webs. I think it should be one of the best bikes I have seen OCC build, it’s really a master piece, and I highly recommend this DVD, so you can watch how they built it.
